Last weekend, on the 24th of September, we had our much anticipated bloggers gathering at Sakae Teppanyaki, Auto City in Penang. This gathering saw a total of 20 attendees. The number of head count was made possible with the team spirit of the blogger group and the hardwork of the organiser of this gathering event, namely Ranney Kok (Marketing Execitive).

Apparently, it‘s not my first dining experience to Sakae Teppanyaki, the first and last time I dined there was in the mid of last year. The delicacies that we had before and now have somewhat changed a little bit. However, the night was not really about the food, it was mainly about people, free sharing of ideas and knowledge and most of us have fun.

The event started with the blogger arrival from 7:45pm onwards. For those who arrived early like us were busy mingling around and taking photos.

At first, we have received a RM50 gift voucher from Sakae Sushi & Teppanyaki while registration. The thing that made me unforgettable is we no need to pay RM20 for the registration which has been foresaid in the invitation. But, it’s fully sponsored by Sakae. It’s impressed me!

Kedai Kopi Kristal Seafood located right in the heart of Pulau Tikus. They not only provide dine in or take away service but also provide delivery services right to your doorsteps. What impressed me is their WIFI access in their shop as this extra service is quite rare in Penang coffee shops.

This coffee shop provides various types of seafood dishes which include Nestum Prawn, Honey Chicken, Nestum Prawn, Steamed Grouper Fish and etc. Besides that, you can have a variety of soups there as well.

If you’re finding somewhere which gives you the gorgeous surroundings and enjoying with a fairly large menu of different cuisines, then one place for you to head is Palm Restaurant of the Hydro Hotel. Hydro Hotel formerly named as Hydro Majestic Hotel which located in Batu Feringghi.
You can enjoy your lunch and dinner with a view of the beautiful grounds. For me, it’s a very pleasant place.

Besides that, I also visited all of the Hydro Hotel guest rooms which have a panoramic view of the sea, which for sure can give you a comfortable feel.

This is the place where I had my buffet dinner there. If you have budget and still want to have quality food, then you should try this place. It serves you buffet dinner almost everyday.
Also, it offers you a refreshing ambiance as it has beautiful surrounds. I like the spectacular view of the swimming pool when having dinner there.
And after 8pm, you get entertained by the vocals from the lounge.

Siong Ho main shop is located along Weld Quay and it’s just opposite of the jetty. The another branch Hualy food court which is just few miles away from the main shop was opened due to the earlier success in the main shop.

From there, you can choose a variety of ingredients which available to create your own taste preference. Based on my experience, the ingredients that are used to cook are very fresh! Plus, the food is prepared almost instantly upon your instructions.
After tried so many delicious foods served, I found myself the first choice which is Mixed Seafood Tom Yam Soup (RM8 - RM12).
The soup was fiery hot and it makes you crave for more…

My second choice will go for Crab (Thick) Bee Hoon (RM5/100gms). For me, the crab is undeniably great but I feel the combination of thick bee hoon with noodle may taste nicer.

My third choice goes to Claypot Fish Head (RM12-RM15). The deep fried chopped garlic adds another dimension to the dish.

On 22nd Aug 2010, I’d been invited by Mr. PattKhor(Tree Monkey boss), Ms Wisakha, through coordination by Warren, for a food review.

Tree Monkey is located at Teluk Bahang, which is just besides Tropical Spice Garden. It has just started its business on 30th Jul 2010.

We were in a group of 22 pax served with glasses of drinks as our welcome drink. This is called Sunset Paradise which cost RM10.00 and it’s only available from 6.00pm-7.00pm. It’s actually a tropical fruit mocktail which is mixture of orange, pineapple and lemon in it.
